Stun Me was a song written about a transitional relationship. You know the kind, where you just can't get in sync, no matter how hard you try. Bruce broke out the slide for this. Man that guy can play. Gia sang harmony. In my head, I heard it sounding like The Stones, but it came out more like The Eagles. Bill added little touches in the lyrics, like, "I'm sitting' here like a truck—the traffic light is stuck" and "my porch light's burning long", instead of "...burning on", which I had written.

Lyrics

Everyday a new love dies
But you’ve got the sun inside
I need—I want to feel the heat

I’m sitting here like a truck
The traffic light is stuck
I need a downbeat

Every time you stun me
With your darkness and your day
One day your sun shines all over
Then the next is lonely rain

I don’t know how to get to you
You’re moving in and out of view
But I know I’ll find you yet

Some things will never change
But you’re one who won’t stay the same
I’m sick and I need help

Every time you stun me
With your darkness and your day
One day your sun shines all over
Then the next is lonely rain

Looks like midnight’s done
My porch light’s burning long
I never turn it off

Every time you stun me
With your darkness and your day
One day your sun shines all over
Then the next is lonely rain
