This song was written back in the mid-80's in Channel Islands, California. I was heavily into R.E.M. back then. The lyrics don't make much sense, but are generally about living a carefree life. Arlan did his psychedelic organ thing (which I think he gets by playing with the on-off switch or playing around with the Leslie or something). Like a couple of other songs on Morris Road, this one veered considerably from my original vision of it, which was more simple and poppish. With this, being my first album, I was reluctant to assert myself, but then again, these guys were all amazing players and I sort of wanted to see what they could come up with, which was pretty cool. The Who-like ending where David comes back in on the drums was completely spontaneous, so we left it in.

Lyrics

Living it out
Saving it up
Hoping maybe
There’s a door to walk through
That leads me to you baby

Second time
All the time
Last line
Never mind
Overtime love

Hour glass shade
Month of May
A view of life outside
Thinking in time
It all will come true
My love for you will shine

Second time
All the time
Last line
Never mind
Overtime love

Hour glass shade
Month of May
A view of life outside
Thinking in time
It all will come true
My love for you will shine

Second time
All the time
Last line
Never mind
Overtime love
