Going Down is another old song of mine from the 80's. This is where I live: open chords, suspended 4ths, etc. The whole folk rock thing. A simple song about depression trying to suck me down, yet again. Wanting to isolate, not talk to anyone. Strange creatures we humans are! Bruce broke out the 12 string Ricky on this (which, by the way I should own one of, being so into folk-rock—yet I don't for some reason!).

Lyrics

Lately I’ve been hitting too many walls
Lately I’ve been feeling pretty small
Too small to scream
I know I make myself this way
I know I work and never play
I don’t dream at all

Every time the season’s turning
I fall back and hit the ground
Everywhere the reason’s burning
Going down
Going down
Going down again

I tried to call but I’m not really on the ball
I’m just afraid
Afraid that I might fall
I might crawl like before
But don’t you think I am beyond hope
The only reason I’m holding onto this rope
Is your faith in me

Every time the season’s turning
I fall back and hit the ground
Everywhere the reason’s burning
Going down
Going down
Going down again
